Lexington, KY— Lexington Sporting Club is thrilled to announce the transfer of experienced defender Danny Barbir ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. Barbir joins the club from Miami FC, bringing a wealth of talent and leadership to the backline.

Barbir has established himself as a formidable presence in the USL Championship, with over 100 appearances in the league playing for clubs including Indy Eleven, Oakland Roots SC, and Sporting Kansas City II. Known for his defensive prowess, aerial dominance, and ability to distribute the ball effectively from the back, Barbir’s versatility and experience will be integral as Lexington Sporting Club embarks on its inaugural season in the USL Championship.
In addition to his club career, Barbir has represented the United States at various youth levels, from U-15 to U-20, including competing in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. His background in both domestic and international competitions underscores his pedigree as a player capable of performing on the biggest stages.
