LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington Sporting Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Kyle Timm, Jose Robles, and Nate Walzer as assistant coaches for the club’s USL Championship Men’s Team. These additions bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the coaching staff as the club prepares for its inaugural season in the league.
Kyle Timm has over a decade of coaching experience at the collegiate and professional levels. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of the USL Championship. Timm also spent three seasons with Coastal Carolina University, guiding the team to multiple NCAA Tournament berths, and coached the Myrtle Beach Mutiny to back-to-back Southeast Conference Championships. Earlier in his career, Timm contributed to three National Championships at Tyler Junior College and was named NSCAA National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2016. A former South African U17 National Team player, Timm brings a strong background in player development and recruiting.
Jose Robles most recently served as an assistant coach at UCLA and previously spent four years with Tulsa men’s soccer, where he was promoted to associate head coach in 2022. During his time at Tulsa, the team achieved a 36-19-8 record, two NCAA Tournament appearances, and an American Athletic Conference title in 2021. Robles has also coached at Florida Atlantic University, USF, and Tyler Junior College, helping lead the latter to a 2012 NJCAA National Championship. A former collegiate player, Robles holds a USSF B License and a bachelor’s degree in sports administration.
Nate Walzer joins as the Director of Goalkeeping and Goalkeepers USLC Coach at Lexington Sporting Club with a strong focus on goalkeeper development. He most recently served as Director of Goalkeepers and Assistant Coach for New Mexico United and previously worked with Charlotte Independence and NC State. Walzer began his coaching career at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, and also worked with the Portland Timbers Academy. As a player, he competed at the University of Rio Grande, helping his team reach the National Championship Game. Walzer is known for his hands-on, high-energy coaching style and commitment to player growth.
The trio will collaborate with Head Coach Terry Boss to implement the team’s vision, oversee player training, and contribute to the club’s on-field success. Their combined experience positions Lexington Sporting Club for a strong debut in the USL Championship.
