Lexington, KY – Lexington Sporting Club is thrilled to announce the signing of Xavier Zengue to its USL Championship men’s team. A standout defender hailing from North Oaks, Minnesota, Zengue brings a dynamic blend of collegiate and professional experience as Lexington SC builds a formidable roster for the 2025 season.
“I am extremely excited to be joining Lexington SC,” said Zengue. “I have heard a lot of great things about the club and also the city. Can’t wait to get to work with the team and will do everything I can to help this team be successful.”
Drafted by Columbus Crew in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, Zengue honed his skills with Crew 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, showcasing his defensive reliability and adaptability. During his collegiate career at the University of Dayton from 2019 to 2022, he was a key contributor to the Flyers’ backline, earning recognition for his consistent performances.
Standing six feet tall, Zengue is known for his versatility and composure under pressure, making him a strong addition to Lexington’s defensive lineup. His commitment to success and leadership qualities are expected to make an immediate impact on and off the field.
