Lexington, Ky. & Tampa, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that Lexington Sporting Club will join USL League Two beginning in the 2025 season.
Already competing in the USL Super League, USL Championship and the USL W League, Lexington SC will continue to expand their pathway and provide real professional opportunities.
“We are excited about this opportunity to join League Two for our club and the pre-professional pathway here in Lexington,” Chris LeFevre, Lexington SC’s Academy Director, said. “It is just another example of the opportunities that our club, alongside the USL, provides for our players to develop and pursue their dreams. Our ambition as a club is to be a leader within the pre-professional pathways in the USL. League Two’s platform is a key piece to the structure, and we are grateful to have the opportunity for our players to compete in this league!”
The club will compete in the Valley Division in 2025 and will play home matches at the Lexington SC Athletic Complex. Players will train in the same facilities used by Championship and Super League players to make the most of their time in League Two.
“Lexington SC’s ambition makes me really excited to welcome them to League Two in 2025,” Joel Nash, USL SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional, said. “They’ve prioritized providing the complete pathway from grassroots to professional soccer, and we’re happy to be a platform for them to achieve that.”
