2024 Squad

Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of Cori Sullivan to the inaugural USL Super League roster pending league and federation approval on Friday, July 5^th. 

Sullivan, one of the most experienced members of Lexington’s inaugural Super League roster, most recently played for Glasgow City FC in the SPWL 1 Women, the top-flight of women’s soccer in Scotland. 

With Glasgow City, Sullivan helped the team to a third-place finish, sitting just behind Rangers and Celtic, the two largest clubs in Scotland and two of the largest in the United Kingdom entirely. She finished as the 2023 SWPL Sky Cup top scorer (11 goals) and made Team of the Week twice. 

Despite the third-place finish, joining a squad that won the league one year prior, Sullivan was able to suit up for play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification, besting Shelbourne FC from Ireland and FC Gintra from Lithuania before falling in the final round versus Norway’s SK Brann. 

Prior to her move to Scotland, Sullivan suited up for Cruz Azul FC in the Liga MX Femenil, the top-flight of women’s soccer in Mexico. 

Before beginning her professional career, Sullivan began her career the same place many do in the United States: in college. 

Sullivan began her collegiate career with the Arizona State Sun Devils, scoring goals in the NCAA Tournament and being named Pac12 Offensive Player of the Week in 2021. 

She then entered the transfer portal and finished her career with the Washington Huskies, also in the Pac12. 

Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of Bridgette Skiba to the inaugural USL Super League roster pending league and federation approval on Monday, July 8th.

Skiba, a goalkeeper, most recently played for HB Koge in Denmark, suiting up in the top tier of Danish soccer. 

With HB Koge, Skiba earned  the opportunity to not only play top-flight soccer, but also the opportunity to perform in the UEFA Women’s Champions League after contributing to a 2023 Danish league title as a starter. 

She also earned player of the match against the esteemed Juventus from Italy. 

Prior to moving to Denmark, Skiba was a national team replacement with the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup AU/NZ. Skiba filled in for United States Women’s National Team starting goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher. 

Before signing her first professional contract, Skiba also trained with Racing Louisville FC and Portland Thorns also in the NWSL. 

As an amateur in college, Skiba suited up for the Oregon State Beavers at the NCAA Division-I level, being a team captain all four years before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Skiba recorded the fourth most saves in program history (286) with the Beavers and was ranked the No. 1 national goalkeeper in the Junior Final by Evrybodysoccer. 

Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of NaYeong Shin to the inaugural USL Super League roster pending league and federation approval on Friday, July 12th. 

Na-Young comes to Lexington after a four-year career in the K League, the top flight of women’s soccer in South Korea. 

Outside of her club career, NaYeong also boasts national team experience, having suited up for the U17, U19, and U20 South Korea Women’s National Teams. 

Her first national call-up came in 2016 with the U17s before she earned six separate call-ups to the U19 team in 2017, participating in training camps during six different months of the year. She also helped the squad in preparation for the AFC Women’s Championships with three caps and officially sanctioned matches against Japan, North Korea, and China. 

Then, in 2019, NaYeong earned further call-ups with the U20 national team — which is the university level and similar to the NCAA Division-I All-American squad — taking part in nine training camps and earning five additional caps against Russia, Italy twice, Japan, and China. 

Looking back to her club career, ahead of becoming a professional, NaYeong attended college at Daedeok University, racking up numerous accolades during her tenure. She won the 2019 Spring Korea Women’s Football Federation Defensive Award (Defensive Player of the Year) and 2019 Autumn Korea Women’s Football Federation Outstanding Player Award (MVP). 

Her stellar college career saw her drafted to the K League for Seoul City Amazones FC after just two seasons. 

NaYeong would play one season for Amazones FC, making 12 starts and 19 appearances as a rookie, before moving to Changnyeong WFC. With Changnyeong, NaYeong made 23 starts in 34 appearances. 

Her most recent move prior to Lexington was to Hwacheon KSPO FC, where she once again became a mainstay in the starting XI, starting all 29 matches she played in. 

Shepherd, a defender from California, played NCAA Division-I soccer for the Michigan Wolverines in the Big Ten.

Hailing from Monte Vista High School, Shepherd was named the East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) MVP and racked up numerous youth club and high school accolades before moving to Ann Arbor.

A committed defender with strong field vision, Shepherd’s college career began as many do at the highest stage as she saw  the field in six games for 191 minutes of playing time.

Back for her sophomore year in 2019, Shepherd jumped up to 23 games played with 21 starts, boosting the Michigan defense to six shutouts with one goal in two assists in nearly 2,000 minutes played. Her goal and one of her assists propelled the Wolverines to victory over Rutgers in the Big Ten Tournament, with the assist coming on the game-winning score. She helped lead the squad to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament before it was defeated by No. 2 North Carolina.

With the Covid-19 pandemic affecting the latter years of her career, Shepherd played in all 11 games of the abridged Spring 2021 (2020) season with eight (8) starts, helping secure four shutouts and scoring two goals.

In her final year with Michigan, in Fall 2021, she was the only Wolverine to start in all 24 matches with 18 complete games, leading all Michigan players with 2,100 minutes. She also added two assists to her career total.

Overall with Michigan, Shepherd was named to the All-Big Ten Tournament Team in 2019  andaccumulated numerous academic awards in conference.

She became a trialist with Lexington Sporting Club ahead of the club’s inaugural 2024 Super League season, seeing the field in friendlies against the University of Kentucky and the University of the Cumberlands.

With her strong play and work ethic, she was signed to a full contract ahead of the season open.

“We liked her,” Super League coach Mike Dickey said following the exhibition against UK. “I think she could help us, she’s somebody that really can play the way we want to play and she brings good positives to our culture and her ability to play.”

Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of former University of Kentucky women’s soccer star Hannah Richardson to the inaugural USL Super League roster pending league and federation approval on Monday, July 8^th. 

Richardson, a native of Illinois, most recently played for HB Koge in the top flight of Denmark. She played alongside fellow Lexington SC Super League signing Bridgette Skiba this past season, finishing third in the championship group of the Elitedivisionen, narrowly missing out on UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification. 

She also boasts a call-up with the United States U20 Women’s National Team. 

Prior to signing her first professional contract, Richardson was a star at the University Kentucky, playing women’s soccer at the NCAA Division-I level for four years. 

Richardson logged eight goals and one assist her freshman year, starting in 17 of 18 games played and putting 18 shots on target. Her efforts saw her named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. 

Back for her sophomore year, the 2020-21 season was impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, which decreased her numbers down to two goals and one assist in five stars and seven games. Richardson had been named to the SEC Preseason Watch List before the season. 

With normalcy returning for the 2021-22 season and Richardson being a junior, her numbers returned to form as she drilled eight goals with three assists, starting 16 of her 19 games for the Cats with 21 shots on frame. 

In her final season at UK, the first under current head coach Troy Fabiano, Richardson was once again a part of a lethal scoring combination of herself and all-time UK leading goal scorer Jordyn Rhodes, sinking four goals and notching nine assists with 23 shots on target. She started all 18 games for the Cats. Both Richardson and Rhodes were named to the SEC Preseason Watch List. 

Richardson’s career didn’t just begin when she got to college, however, as she also boasts experience with Sockers FC, a prominent development club in the United States based in Chicago. 

Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of Maddy Perez to the inaugural USL Super League roster pending league and federation approval on Monday, July 1^st. 

Originally from West Covina, California, Perez was a teammate of fellow Lexington SC Super League signee Elysia Laramie at Cal State-Long Beach (Long Beach State) at the NCAA Division-I level. 

Following the conclusion of her high school career at West Covina High School — which she led to a league championship as a freshman — Perez committed to LBSU with several years of United States Women’s Youth National Team experience under her belt. 

Perez was called up for her home country at the U16, U17, U18, and U20 levels, most recently suiting up for the U20 squad in a friendly against Japan in 2019. 

With her true freshman year being canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Perez returned in 2021 as a freshman — having been granted an extra year of eligibility — and was immediately named Big West Freshman of the Year and to the Big West All-Conference First Team after starting in 17/18 games played, playing a full 90 in 15 matches. 

In 2022 she once again was named to the Big West All-Conference First Team after starting in all 21 games for LBSU, being on the field for over 99% of all minutes played by the squad that season. She was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Third Team. 

In 2023 she returned once again to both the Big West All-Conference First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Third Team, leading the team in minutes for the third year in a row and starting in all 20 games. 

She opted to forgo her final year of eligibility to focus on professional soccer and is now set to join the inaugural Lexington SC USL Super League squad. 

Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of Madison “Madi” Parsons to the inaugural USL Super League roster pending league and federation approval on Monday, June 24^th. 

Parsons enjoyed a lengthy collegiate career with California State University-Chico, colloquially called Chico State, as a center forward from 2018-22. She boasts the record for the fastest hat trick in school history, netting three goals three minutes and four seconds. 

Following the end of her collegiate career she began playing for Yuba FC in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) from 2023-24, becoming the club’s leading goal scorer as a captain. 

She then made the move to CDA, also in the UPSL, as a captain before signing with Lexington SC after taking part in open tryouts for the inaugural Super League squad. 

Parsons also has goalkeeping experience from her youth while being a strong leader on the field with physical prowess and strong technical ability. 

Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of Shea Moyer to the inaugural USL Super League roster pending league and federation approval on Friday, July 12th. 

Moyer, a midfielder, joins LSC after most recently playing for Ankara BB Fomget GSK in the top flight of women’s soccer in Turkiye. 

Moyer also boasts previous national team experience, having been part of the United States U20 Women’s National Team for the 2016 Women’s World Cup in Ireland. She also was part of the team with the U14s, U15s, U18s, and U19s. 

Looking back to her club career, Moyer, a native of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, notably played NCAA Division-I soccer with the Penn State Nittany Lions. 

Moyer scored three goals in college before her senior year was cut short by an ACL tear. She played 43 matches with Penn State. 

Moving on from college, Moyer then moved to Iceland in 2021, joining Knattspyrnufélagið Þróttur (Throttur). 

She then made a move to Israel with ASA Tel Aviv University for two seasons before returning to Throttur. 

Moyer would then make another move, back to Tel Aviv with ASA, before joining Turkish outfit Ankara BB Fomget GSK in the capital of Turkiye. 

Appearing in 14 matches with one goal, Moyer helped the squad in the second half of the season to finish second in the Super Lig, just two points behind league champions Galatasaray from Istanbul. 

Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of Kimberly Mendez to the inaugural USL Super League roster pending league and federation approval on Wednesday, June 19th 

Mendez, historically a center fielder and striker, most recently played for ŽFK Mašinac PZP Niš in Serbia, playing in the top flight of professional women’s soccer in the country. 

A true center midfielder with an innate ability to control the flow of the game, Mendez played collegiate soccer with California State (CSU) Los Angeles at the NCAA Division-II level after being a four-year varsity player and Scholar Athlete of the Year at Bloomington High School in California. 

Playing at CSU-LA from 2016-20, Mendez made 65 appearances, logging two goals and two assists. For her efforts she was named team captain from 2017-20 and Most Inspirational Player in 2017 and 2018. 

Following the end of her collegiate career, she joined ŽFK Mašinac PZP Niš in 2021, playing with the Serbian outfit where she made 11 appearances and logged two goals and three assists.
